Our dear dear girl is gone

We haven't posted here for awhile, since we opened our Instagram account: (https://www.instagram.com/maddyminiaussie/)

We moved to the Seattle area a couple of years ago and Maddy was enjoying herself immensely. You can see some of that at the Instagram account. About 6 months ago Maddy was diagnosed with kidney disease. With diet and meds, we were able to stabilize her for several months, but then the disease progressed and she started declining quickly. We came to the difficult decision to say goodbye on January 31, 2024. She died at home and we were with her. We're heartbroken and will hold her in our fractured hearts as long as we breathe. We were fortunate to have her for 14 amazing years. There will be no other like her. Rest in power, beautiful girl.

Sincere apologies for the lack of posts!

What can we say? We haven’t done a lot better on our Instagram page! (https://www.instagram.com/maddyminiaussie/)
We’ll try to make it up here with some pics from a recent trip to outdoor dining (brrr)
at PastaPesce, where we love the broccoli rabe, and the cheesecake is no slouch either.
We’ll try to do better in the future.

Merry Merry

She really loves her new toy though it doesn’t look like it here.
She really loves tearing up tissue paper though.

She really does love it.

There’s that smile!

We have been slow to post lately, let’s make up for that.

Taking a rest with Quentin

On our evening walk the other day, stopped to rest and noticed that our bench had a plaque for Quentin Crisp. We were tickled. Plaque says:
Quentin Crisp
1908 – 1999
Writer, Raconteur, Actor
“If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.”

window watching

Love to look/smell out the window that overlooks the lovely brownstone back yards/gardens behind us.

summertime corn on the cob

At first she just licked the butter off, but then she figured out
it’s OK to bite the little kernels off. New fave food!

miscellaneous

Waiting for Mike to join us after he drops off the recyclables.
Kind of like the earlier pic, but now she just puts her head directly on my hand.

She waits patiently for us to come in and for god’s sake eat the guacamole.
There is our guac, her celery bits AND her avocado spoon!
